People are talking about it! What actually is The Big Day Off?

Small Business Big Day Off

Its official, Mayor Pam Parker is attending The Big Day Off and so are business owners who need their well-deserved break. There is talk about what it actually is though, Helen Cowley the developer and mentor for The Big Day Off and Small Business Improvement Services tells us what it is actually about.

“As a business improvement coach I have met with a lot of business owners over the last few years and while some are managing fine and not having a problem, the majority are struggling” Helen tells. “I would meet with business owners who were looking to improve their business through their profitability and productivity, but they would just end up sitting in front of me crying or just being physically exhausted because they cannot cope with stress of running and owning a business by themselves.”

“I would end up having to tell them to go home and have a break before I could help them. They needed to be able to have a relaxed, renewed and revived mind to be able to take in new ideas. When they came back to me a day or two later after their break they would have a much more positive outlook on their situation. They were able to take in the advice I would give them and be able to add these to their business”, She continued.

Toddi Gutner has the same outlook as Helen when it comes to business owners become a “work-a-holic” to get things done, “The truth is, this kind of work pace is unsustainable. Creativity suffers, resilience falters and one’s sense of accomplishment plummets. The solution? Taking a sabbatical, or a reboot break.”

“The Big Day Off is a whole month event that encourages business owners to take a day off to relax, renew and revive to thrive their minds. I understand that sometimes people cannot take a specific day off, which is why we have made this community event a whole month thing. Although our launch is on the 3rd of September at Outback Jacks in Browns Plains, those who cannot make that will have plenty more opportunities to get involved in this awareness event. We are also honoured to announce that Mayor Pam Parker will be attending the breakfast launch. Breakfast will be $25 and if you would like to stay for the events afterwards it is an extra $10”, explains Helen.

“Those who need to relax, renew and revive to thrive and want to become involved in the launch can contact me personally through our Facebook page Small Business Improvement Services or The Big Day off, or also by our website www.sbis.com.au.” Helen Cowley insists.

Helen Cowley has various qualifications and experience in business and business coaching, she has owned several of her own businesses and is highly qualified to be conducting these events and helping small businesses to be more profitable and increase their productivity by taking a day off.
